Detailed Map

From London via the A21 Hastings Road
Turn right at Hurst Green, and go as far as Burwash. Turn left at the Church by the War Memorial. Follow this road to Woods Corner. Turn right on the B2096 towards Heathfield and go down a steep hill and through an S-Bend and take the next fork to the left, which leads to Rushlake Green. As you approach the village, you will see a long stone wall on your left. Stone House is inside it, and a left hairpin at the crossroads leads you into the drive.
From London via the A22 and from the West via the A272
Head for Maresfield, and go through it and follow the A272 Signs for Heathfield. Go to the end of the A272 and turn right for Heathfield. After going up a long hill in Heathfield, go less than a quarter of a mile along the next level section (A265) and look out for and take the next fork to the right marked B2096 to Battle. Go along this road and take the fourth turning to the right, which is marked to Rushlake Green. Follow the signs to Rushlake Green, and, as you approach the Green, turn back left keeping the Green on your right. You then immediately pass a road coming in on your left, followed shortly after by the crossroads at the north-east corner of the Green, and there, you should turn half left into our entrance past the Lodge and the Lake.
From Dover and the Channel Tunnel
Straight onto the A20/M2O until the second Ashford Exit, and follow signs to A28 and Tenterden, and follow A28 until T junction with A268, where turn right and follow this road to the lights in the middle of Hawkhurst, where turn left and follow A229 to the A21, where you turn left and very shortly after, turn right on A265 to Burwash, where you turn left and follow the signs to Woods Corner, where you turn right on the B2096 towards Heathfield. Follow this road down a long, steep hill and through an S-Bend and take the next fork to the left, which leads to Rushlake Green. As you approach the village, you will see a long stone wall on your left. Stone House is inside it, and a left hairpin at the crossroads leads you into the drive.
From the South - Eastbourne or the A27 coast road
Pick up the A22 Eastbourne-London road and follow it up the full length of the dual carriageway north of Polegate to the Boship roundabout, where you should turn right onto the A271. Follow this road through the outskirts of Hailsham through many bends, after which there is a long straight in front of you. You must go what used to be straight on at the end of this straight, but the main road now leads round to the right, and you need to turn left, off the main road, past a small island. You should ignore the first road leading off to the left and pick up the next road running in the same direction as you have been travelling. This road leads straight up to Rushlake Green. As you approach, you should take the road along the right hand side of the Green, and you will arrive at a crossroads at the other end of the Green. Here you just need to turn half right into our stone walled entrance past The Lodge and the Lake.
From Brighton
Leave Brighton on the A27 and follow this road past Lewes on the Dual Carriageway, at the end of which you will find a roundabout, where you should turn left, and then proceed through a short tunnel and at the roundabout, turn right. Proceed along this main road (A26) for a short distance until you come to a fork, leading off to the right in the direction of Ringmer (B2192). Take this fork, and go through Ringmer to the next fork, where you take the left branch marked to Heathfield along a very long and straight Roman Road. When you reach the roundabout at Halland, go straight across the A22. Carry on on this road through Blackboys and then come out at Cross in Hand opposite an Esso garage on the A267. Turn right for Heathfield. After going up a long hill in Heathfield, go less than a quarter of a mile along the next level section (A265) and look out for and take the next fork to the right marked B2096 to Battle. Go down this road and take the fourth turning to the right, which is marked to Rushlake Green.
From Gatwick Airport
Head for M23 Motorway in direction of Brighton, and leave at next Exit, and follow signs for East Grinstead. You will join the A22 at Felbridge. Then turn right and follow A22 instructions above.
