WEEKEND  HOUSE PARTIES AT STONE HOUSE

Located within the rambling countryside of East Sussex, and a short distance from the South Downs, lies a heavenly and secluded country retreat, Stone House. Beautiful stone gates and a long twisting driveway meander in and up past the lake to the elegant Georgian Manor House

For more than 20 years Stone House has greeted individual guests and small parties looking for that perfect country getaway. Weekend and overnight stays with sumptuous dinners and a unique ambience have resulted in the Hotel having an envious yet closely guarded reputation

Guests return time and time again to savour the culinary delights of Master Chef and Proprietor, Jane Dunn, and to soak up the atmosphere of this uniquely warm and secluded establishment. Up until now, Stone House has catered for smaller groups and couples looking to escape the bustle of busy City life, but this is soon about to change.

As from February 2nd, 2007, Stone House will also be available for mid-week or weekend parties of up to 16 guests wishing to hire the Hotel for themselves, and enjoy the privacy of their own party and the full attention and hospitality of Jane, Peter and their staff.

Arriving on the first evening, the staff of Stone House will be on hand to greet their guests warmly with a glass of champagne and take their bags up to their rooms, following which it is time to switch off and relax. A sumptuous feast awaits, served buffet style.   You may choose from our extensive menu.

After that, adjourn to the library for a nightcap and relax in front of a roaring log fire, where coffee, port and brandy are served. When it’s time for bed, retire to one of the elegant, country-style bedrooms, all of which are individually designed and beautifully furnished to ensure a memorable stay.

The next day, make your way to the dining room or the Terrace for breakfast with your favourite newspapers and the latest magazines. The day then is yours to do as you wish.   Alternatively we can propose a number of different pursuits such as Clay Pigeon Shooting, Horse Riding, Cooking Demonstrations, Wine or Gardening Lectures, Beauty Treatments such as a manicure or heavenly massage or simply a relaxed guided walk followed by a gourmet picnic within the grounds.

The Saturday evening is a time of pure indulgence. Choose from an array of traditional and eclectic dishes all carefully prepared by Jane using only the freshest and finest local produce. A spectacular wine cellar is at your disposal from where you can choose from more than 400 carefully selected wines, and if that isn’t enough, from a small selection of fine, rare and unusual wines entitled ‘Stone House Reserve’ (NB: If you have any special dietary requirements, Jane will be happy to discuss this with you prior to your visit.)

Sunday has long been considered a day of rest and at Stone House we intend to uphold this tradition! Awake at your leisure to a choice of breakfast menus of both Eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary, a light Continental Breakfast or full English, followed by a relaxing walk, returning eventually to a traditional Sunday Roast of your choice with all the trimmings served once again in either the dining room or on the terrace.

Peter and Jane Dunn, as well as the staff of Stone House, pride themselves in being able to offer a uniquely bespoke and intimate service which can cater for any special occasion from Birthdays, Anniversaries, Engagements, to Ladies Weekends, or that weekend getaway with your favourite group of friends. The above also lends itself to a really good middle-of-the-week get-away.

We look forward to welcoming you.
